About us
Welcome to In Color Studio!
Design with character and purpose
In Color Studio is the design team within a Calgary design and build company founded by Sofia Ball and Antonio Contreras. Together with Americas General Contracting, we create residential and select commercial spaces that reflect the people who use them, with careful attention to layout, colour, materials, construction, and the details that make a room feel complete.
Meet Sofia Ball
Sofia is the founder and lead designer of In Color Studio and co owner of Americas General Contracting. She holds a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Universidad de Los Andes in Venezuela and has 20 years of interior design experience, including over a decade in Canada for residential and commercial spaces. Her work combines a practical understanding of how spaces are built with a love of colour, layered materials, and personal expression. Sofia guides clients through design decisions with drawings, clear communication, and close attention to budget and function.
Outside the studio, Sofia finds inspiration and a sense of calm in the Rocky Mountains, whether hiking a scenic trail or paddling across one of Alberta’s emerald lakes. She also enjoys exploring Calgary’s food scene and discovering new restaurants and flavours.
Meet Antonio Contreras
Antonio Contreras is the co-founder and general contractor behind Americas General Contracting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and has more than 20 years of experience in construction and project management, including over a decade in Canada. Antonio leads the building side of each project, coordinating skilled trades and turning thoughtful plans into well-crafted spaces. Working alongside his wife, Sofía Ball, Antonio brings design and construction together from the first conversation through the final details.
Outside work, Antonio enjoys playing the drums and working out.
Fun fact
Antonio and Sofía chose the name “Americas” to reflect their journey from Venezuela to Canada, the bridge between the two continents, where they come from, and where they built their family and found a new home.
Do you want your home to stand out from rest?
